The Egyptian Hypertension League ( a branch of the Egyptian Society of Cardiology) in collaboration with the National Hypertension Project ( Egypt ) and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute ( USA ) are organizing the First Pan Arab Conference on Hypertension In three days, experts from different countries will exchange their experiences in the field of hypertension. Recent advances in population studies, clinical and basic research will be presented. State of the Art lectures will be given by international scientists. A number of sessions will be devoted to presentations of original contributions. Six satellite symposia will be held preceding the Conference. Venue: Cairo Marriott Hotel, Zamalek, Cairo, December 6th - 8th, 1993. Language: The official language of the Conference is English. There will be no simultaneous translation. Currency: The official currency is the Egyptian pound (L.E.). The current rate of exchange for the US Dollar is approximately 3.35 L.E. Climate: The weather in Egypt at this time of the year is pleasant with a slight possibility of rain. It should make the large number of social events, daily excursions and post conference tours memorable ones. The average temperature in Cairo in December ranges between a low of 100C and a high of 25 0C. Sunshine is expected most of the days. Official Carrier: Egypt Air is the official air carrier of the Conference. A 50% discount on the one year full fare and 25% discount on the excursion fare will be granted on all Egypt Air service lines. Transportation: A special service of "meet and assist", then transfer to your assigned hotel can be arranged for all participants upon request ( for transportation fees please refer to the registration form). Hotel Accommodation: Hotel rooms sell out quickly specially at this time of the year. The Organizing Committee had reserved rooms at the Cairo Marriott Hotel (a deluxe hotel located near the city center overlooking the Nile ) as well as other less expensive hotels at special congress rates. For reservation please fill in the enclosed hotel accommodation form at your earliest convenience. Due to the peak season of tourism during the congress period, early room reservation is strongly recommended.
