On behalf
of the Ministry of Health of the UAE and the Organizing Committee,
it gives us great pleasure to cordially invite you to join us
and many colleagues from all the Arab countries and from around
the world to Abu Dhabi to participate in the Third Conference
of the Pan-Arab Hypertension Society.
This
conference takes its importance from the fact that hypertension
is a global health problem. In recent years we have witnessed
the impressive growth of strategies and medical treatment of
hypertension. In spite of this large body of evidence, a wide
range of questions still remains to be addressed including topics
from the molecular and genetic aspects of hypertension to its
management, from implementing the results of major clinical
trials into clinical practice to the cost-benefit and managerial
aspects of hypertension.
All these
aspects will be highlighted in the “Scientific Program”, February
7-9, 2000. Additionally, and for the first time in the conferences
of the Pan-Arab Hypertension Society, there will be an international
course entitled “Update in Hypertension” for two days (February
5-6, 2000). The course will be educational and directed toward
all health workers. This conference will be of interest of all
internists, cardiologists, gynaecologists, nephrologists, anaesthetists,
ophthalmologists, surgeon, and health planners.
To ensure
a high scientific level, the conference, organized in collaboration
with the Pan-Arab Hypertension Society, has been endorsed by
the International Society of Hypertension, The World Health
Organization, The American Society of Hypertension, The American
Society of Nephrology, The World Hypertension League, The Inter-American
Society of Hypertension, The American Heart Association (The
Council for High Blood Pressure Research), and the WHO-ISH Liaison
Committee.
Many
international pioneers and other experts from the Arab world,
including the UAE, have been invited to share their experience
and knowledge with you. We have also prepared for you an enjoyable
“social program”.
We are
looking forward to your active participation in the conference
