Prevalence of Diabetes
by Age Group in the US

Based on data derived from
the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) and the Third National Health and
Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III), the CDC estimated that in 2000,
the percentage of adults with diabetes was 2.5% among 20 to 44 year-olds, 12.1% among 45 to 64 year-olds, 21.6% among 65 to
74 year-olds, and 18.5% among those over 75.
